Artificial Intelligence (AI) has disrupted Human Resource Management (HRM), streamlining operations and enhancing employee engagement. AI's role in HRM is crucial, automating tasks, refining recruitment, and personalizing the workforce experience. Analytical tools powered by AI facilitate strategic decisions, while predictive models enhance staff retention and leadership identification.
Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and ethical values, shaping globally minded, entrepreneurial leaders. A conference at LIBA on AI in HRM aligns perfectly with its mission of 'Excellence with Ethics,' preparing future leaders for an AI-integrated professional world. In collaboration with Madden School of Business and Economics - Le Moyne College, Syracuse, NY, USA and Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA, USA and LIBA is excited to present the "International Conference on Reimagining Human Resources and Workplace in the World of Artificial Intelligence" (ICHRM 2025).. ICHRM 2025 at LIBA's sprawling campus in the heart of Chennai within Loyola College, will be a melting pot for scholars, academicians, and practitioners to discuss and influence the future of HR practices, focusing on the theme 'Reimagining Human Resources and Workplace in the World of Artificial Intelligence.'
Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) is a premier B-school, established in 1979 inside the Loyola College campus, to form leaders who would excel with ethics both in life and work and make a difference in society. It is a Jesuit business school, run by Society of Jesus, popularly known as Jesuits, globally renowned for their outstanding contribution to education from the year 1540. LIBA is one of seventy-five Jesuit higher education institutions in India, to mention a few, St Xavier's College, Mumbai, St Xavier's College, Kolkata, St. Joseph's University, Bengaluru, XLRI, Jamshedpur and XIM University, Bhubaneswar.
LIBA stands for excellence with ethics which are the key characteristics of Jesuit business education. Excellence (Magis) rooted in ethics is seen in LIBA as competence. LIBA believes that what should motivate students at the deepest level should be what we might call "hungers" or "desires" that drive and inspire their idealism and their sense of hope. LIBA guides students at every level to see business leadership as an opportunity for service to others, especially the marginalised, and for the common good. LIBA strives to equip them with the skills to survive in today's volatile economy, but they also need to yearn for integral human development - the development of the person as a whole, what we call care for the individual person (Cura Personalis).
In this VUCA world, LIBA helps the students develop some key essential competencies for a new kind of leadership which views uncertainty and ambiguity as opportunities and relies on innovative learning skills, effective use of technology, fluent communication and team work as important skills for bringing about a positive change. LIBA's Teaching-Learning-Assessment (TLA) is innovative and formative as it moved away from conventional exams but more of assessments of learning based on one's core competencies and understanding application of ideas to solve the problems of the real world, experiential learning with a clear emphasis on Outcome Based Education (OBE).
LIBA primarily offers three programmes - Two Year PGDM Full-Time, Two Year PGDM Weekend, Two Year PGDM Online - approved by AICTE, and Ph.D programme affiliated to the University of Madras - and more than thirty, One Year Executive Diploma and Certificate programmes. The Management Development Centre (MDC) in LIBA offers various customized programmes, short-term and long-term, to companies and business enterprises with a focus on upskilling leadership competencies. Prof. C.K. Prahalad Centre for Emerging India (CKPC) of LIBA offers training and courses skilling the rural youth and women to help them become entrepreneurs. LIBA is ranked high as one of the top ten business schools and is accredited by NBA.
Welcome to LIBA!
Wish you the best at the conference!
The conference on "Reimagining Human Resources and Workplace with Artificial Intelligence" aims more at leveraging AI for efficient and effective use of human capital than seeing only the challenges AI poses to human capabilities.
For now, AI cannot and will not replace human beings and their resourcefulness. All it can do is to make human capacity more efficient. It may be a positive disruption. This conference will provide a platform for the professionals, HR faculty, and student scholars explore new ways of approaching HR and an innovative way of looking at workplace. Turning human workplace into humachine workplace is a way forward and for that, we need a different kind of ideation leading to innovative human resources.
Let us collectively showcase our capacity to reflect, discern and resolve challenges and open up to a world of opportunities.
With all good wishes,
Rev. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ - Director, LIBA.
